Ballroom Dance Center is located in the beautiful Borough of Chester, New Jersey among the quaint Cafes, Trattorias, and Antique Shops which grace Main Street. Our lovely dance studio is the result of over 25 years of Ballroom & Latin dancing experience.
With a focus on basic Social dancing and beginner dance classes, it is our ongoing mission to provide an enthusiastic and encouraging learning environment for all of our students, regardless of dancing ability or level of experience. Lora began teaching Ballroom & Latin Dancing at the age of 19 in Jacksonville, FL. After several years of teaching in Florida, she returned to the NY – NJ area where there was a much higher level of training and coaching available.
From 1994 to 2002, Lora and her partner competed in the American Rhythm category and were Grand Finalists in many competitions, including the Ohio Star Ball, Emerald Ball, Virginia State Championships, Baltimore Washington Open, Texas Challenge, Embassy Ball, Constitution State Challenge, Yankee Classic, Philadelphia Dance Festival, Yuletide Ball, Florida State Dancesport Championships, Manhattan Dancesport & Northeastern Open Dancesport Championships.
Lora and her partner are the 1997 National American Rhythm Rising Star Champions and were ranked 4th in the country in the Open American Rhythm Championships in 1997 & 1998. They were also invited to dance in the World Mambo Championships from 1999 to 2002, where they placed as Finalists.
Lora retired from competing in 2002, and now runs her dance studio in Chester with her husband.
Joshua began dancing at the age of 7 in Indianapolis, IN, and competed throughout the nation in the Junior Latin and International Standard. After serving in the USMC from 1994-98, he began his career as a Ballroom Dance Instructor. He and his partner competed from 2001 to 2005, and were Finalists in many competitions throughout the Northeast and Midwestern United States.
Most of Joshua’s career has been a focus on technical theory in Ballroom and partnership dancing, and how to intelligently impart that knowledge to dancing students.
He and his wife currently own and operate the NJ Ballroom Dance Center in Chester, NJ.
Curt Foy has been immersed in the performing arts his entire life. He is a dancer, instructor, dance director, choreographer & coach throughout the tri-state area. Curt has competed in both American Smooth & Rhythm, achieving first place in American Rhythm in NY, and five time finalist in American Smooth throughout the east coast.
He has performed in ten national tours, bringing music & dance to audiences of all ages in forty-six different states. Curt is also a master of ceremonies, disc jockey, singer & actor. He provides all of these services and more through his company, CF Star Entertainment.
Curt has an infectious personality that you will never forget. His electric energy and ability to entertain every life that he encounters is why Curt Foy will remain associated with excitement, enjoyment, and excellence.
